Between the searching and the need to work it out...

Can't I just say... "Alles gut, ja"?


Well, this is the ever awkward first-post introduction. I'll be updating this blog often with music recommendations, mp3s and generally: stuff to get excited about.

I'm Liz, I was named after Elizabeth Taylor, and I don't like to sum up my being by what I do (which is songwriting, musicmusicmusic, poetry, and photography). But what I KNOW is: quite simply, music is my very all. Because of my passion for listening to music, I have pretty well no social life. But it fulfills me beyond needing one.


My music taste is broad, and consists of such genres as; (in chronological order)


- 1940s jazz / showtunes.
- 1950s rock and roll / skiffle / rhythm and blues.
- 1960s garage / surf / freakbeat / merseybeat / soul / psychedelia / beat groups / pop.
- 1970s funk / post-punk / punk / glam.
- 1980s new wave / new romantic / synth-pop / post-punk / electronica.
- And from the 1990s-present, some intelligent electro-pop, garage-revival and bands that barely ever make the top 40 of the present day. I'm not a music snob, but good music must be seeked out and it is hiding a just a wee bit further than in the top 40.


But more than genres, for me, it really all just comes down to a good beat, a hip toon, or a sweet melody.
So basically, I will try to cater for a bit of everyone's taste, all the while staying in keeping with my own tastes.
