The Supremes + audacity on television

A marvellously cute performance from Diana Ross & The Supremes. They're miming to a backing track recorded live shortly before the show, and boy does Diana know it! That said, it's a marvellous performance, even just for the unique and endearing mannerisms Diana had in those days.

Most television shows to this day require artists to mime to avoid moments such as Jim Morrison dis-regarding the network and refusing to comply with the uptight complacency of the Ed Sullivian show and refusing to take out the lyric "Girl we couldn't get much higher" during The Doors performance of their hit Light My Fire on the prime time family program. Power to Jim and all libertines!

Ed Sullivan censored The Rollong Stones too I think, but I think they went along with it? Can't remember.
